2010

It's Twenty Ten and we're at it again!

After two successful years of Operation Rudolph in Watford, which saw hundreds of volunteers from loads of churches and agencies combine with donations of over £13,000 each year we are at it again in 2010!

We will continue to use established links with local agencies (e.g. homeless charities and social services), and on the basis of their partnership with us we are confident that this year we need to fund, assemble and deliver 550 hampers.

With careful purchasing, and with help and donations from local suppliers, we expect to create these hampers worth over £60, for the cost of £26 a-piece.

The mission is this...

to make Christmas hampers full of goodies, and distribute these to the families and individuals most in need in our town and bring some unexpected joy this Christmas.

Operation Rudolph has been operating out of the churches in Nottingham for a couple of years and we have the exciting mission of repeating it again here in Watford in 2010. It is a fantastic opportunity for all the churches in Watford to come together to support the community and bless people in a practical, ‘hands-on’ way which communicates Christ’s love.

HOW YOU CAN HELP:

1. Donate towards the cost of the hampers

We need to raise over £20,000! You/your congregation or group can raise funds in any or all of 3 ways:

·   SPONSOR A HAMPER – inviting members to sponsor a hamper at £27 (or more than one at multiples of £27).

·   JOINT SPONSORING – two people put £13.00 each, three people put £8.67 each, four people put £6.50 each, five people put £5.20 each, and so on. Then, together, they know they have sponsored a hamper.

·   SPECIAL COLLECTION – on a particular Sunday, or over a particular period, gifts are given and at the end the church are told ‘we as a church are sponsoring 8 hampers’ (if you raise £200).

This year all donations must be made either on the Website OR via local churches/businesses.

When monies are collected in, a cheque of the sum can be made payable to ‘Christians Across Watford’ and must be posted to:
